For $450, Sony's 35/1.8 normal lens had better be a truly stellar performer...

Why would NEX users put up with this? Who cares about Sony as a company?

In the end, if Sony cannot deliver superior bang/buck, the entire NEX system will whither and die on the vine. That would suck.

So why is Sony choosing to gouge its customers on a crappy prime "normal" lens - especially the kind of dedicated customers who actually want prime lenses and don't just glue the kit lens to mount and forget about it?

Very, very weird "non-camera-company-like" Sony decision making.
