Take it one step at a time. Step 1 (in my opinion)- learn the basics of composition.

Before you even get to trying to learn shutter speed, iso, etc, just stick the camera in auto and let it do the work for you. Then, look at some examples from professional photographers shooting the kind of photos you want to take. Read up on things like composition and lighting, and learn how to see and capture an interesting image. Once you are comfortable with that, then you can worry about the technical aspects and expand your photography.

Once you have trained your eye to see the photos you want, then you can start teaching your brain the rest.
