70-200 F4 Heavy Breather?

A friend of mine just told me the new 70-200 F4 is a dud, breathing almost as badly as my 70-200 VRII.

If that's the case that kills a strong reason for many to grab this lens and leaves the 70-200 VRI as the top pick if you can manage the weight...assuming to actually want a lens capable of 200mm at closer distances.

Anyone else hear about this issue? Not a fan of pricey F4 glass as it is, but if it breathes that badly...zikes, what a shame.
