XZ-1 & Flipbac WARNING!
|
Don't mean to be all dramatic about this, but I wanted to share that I've been using a Flipback mirror thingy on my XZ-1 for a good while. It's never really been useful for better angles (the tilting LCD of the XZ2 I'm sure is MUCH better solution).
But, I had this over-priced $20 mirror with a wire frame and some glue on it, that I'd received as a gift, so I decided to give it a try. The most I could justify is that it was at least protecting the screen. The tradeoff was that it was always in the way and getting caught on stuff... especially taking in an out of a bag, and really wasn't practical for framing within the mirror. In most cases I could see the screen well enough from an angle to not even need the mirror. So, I can't really recommend it.
The "warning" is, that flipbac says you can remove it at any time by gently pulling on one corner in a slow and steady fashion without yanking it up. Well, I followed the directions and the freakin' thing took the whole glass screen clean off the XZ-1!!! Luckily, it was easy to reglue and remount... but still. If you decide to try out the flipbac and then decide to remove it... BEWARE!
