will this fire an external manual flash? (NEX-5N)

Hi guys,

maybe someone could help me out here. I want the NEX-5N to trigger a strobe through a pc sync cable. How about mounting this

and then use the pc cable.

It would probably look weird, but would it work?

Or maybe there is just one adapter with a pc sync?
