How many leave the Big Dog (D700/D800) at home while traveling and take a smaller camera instead?

Just returned from a short trip and I did take my D800. The problem for me was I also took three lenses and should have left the heaviest one behind. I took a 60g , a 14-24 and a 70-200. That was pretty heavy for a constant carry, it turned out. I only really needed the 14-24. On vacation, you can't leave the gear out of your sight. Not in cars, not in the hotel room, etc. So you better be sure what you want hanging on your shoulder the whole time.

Having the D800, I am too spoiled to bring a lesser camera anywhere I go. Lenses? Different story.
