An illusory sense of personal "ownership" of a public forum, and the illusion that one could or should rightly speak on the behalf of others, and commonly resulting demands that such a forum be shaped for the benefit of those who imagine themselves to be the wisest (IMO) consistently prove to be the most troublesome and potentially dangerous forces at work within a community.
Oddly enough, very often those who scream the loudest about the failings of others seem to be looking straight into a mirror when they speak. Such masters of projection lack substantive credibility.
