Fair to say that you meant the following(?):

The ISO is set to values directly proportional to 2^(change in EV) which resulted in approximately equal image-brightness. EVs [ EV = log 2 ( (F-number)^(2) * (shutter speed) ) ] are as stated in the OP. So, given the light is the same, exposures in proportion to the EV.

Since Shutter Speed was the same in all shots (400), then the ISO value was set in direct proportion to the change in the square of the F-Number used in order to achieve the particular image-brightness.

Fair to say that there is no one "correct" exposure - but the most preferable exposure would be the one which required the lowest ISO setting in order to achieve the particular image-brightness ?
