I'll answer my own question. No, there is not.

How many times have you wanted to use f/5 or f/5.6 so that a person's nose ​and​ ears were in focus, but needed to open up to f/1.8 to get an acceptable shutter speed?

Or other such similar scenarios?

Well worry no more, with the Nikon 1 Series! Boom!

I get annoyed when I read post from people here and elsewhere talking as if all pictures have to be taken with as little depth of field as possible. They don't! Some people need more imagination.
