waiting for my (new to me) d200.

i have decided to return to photography as a hobby after about 30yrs absence.

i used to use nikon F`s and a weston master II, and i loved it. but married life changed the way things were and other pastimes came and went. i made do with a variety of film compacts, then a few years ago i got a canon ixus 950 which i eventually dropped on its extended lens from around 4ft, that then died. then i got a lumix fz45 which i quickly realised was drawing me back into the photograph fold. it wasnt long before i found the camera was doing all the working out and i was just pointing it at subject, and this was frustrating when the results were not what i wanted.

so now im sat here waiting the delivery of a vgc d200, and im bloody excited. the wife got me a tamron 70-300 yesterday and i got a good 18-55 nikon off ebay last night, so we are getting there.

i will be using the d200 in manual mode and hopefully MF mode also for most of my shots unless they are just informal bar b q type pics. i have a weston master V to help me work out my own exposures, as i tend to think the digital photos i have shot on ia have been slightly overexposed in the highlights more often than not. if i cock up the exposures, then i can complain about the camera like i do now.

im looking forwards to picking the brains of you nikon users when i need to.
