new D7000 - the lens-question
Dec 2, 2012

Hi there

I am planning to aquire a new D7000 for christmas to dive into the world of DSLR photography. As I have decided on the camera I now ponder which lenses to get.

I checked multiple forums, guides and asked friends, but nonetheless I am still unsure.

At first I will be doing portraits and simple walk-around-and-shoot photos to learn about the camera and find out what settings I use most to get a better idea of which lenses to buy. When I have the money I would like to start to do sports shooting of ballroom and latin dancers. The tournaments are indoors and usually one is able to stand directly on the side of the dancefloor and shoot with flash or tele. This field of use will most probably the most expehensive gear-wise, therefore I wanted to start with more general equipment.

I have the possibility to get my hands on a used

Nikkor 50mm 1.4G ( http://www.nikonusa.com/en/Nikon-Products/Product/Camera-Lenses/2180/AF-S-NIKKOR-50mm-f%252F1.4G.html )

for a relatively good price. Apart from this lens a friend suggested the

SP 17-50mm F/2.8 VC ( http://www.tamron.com/en/photolens/di_II_hi_speed/b005.html )

and

SP 90mm F/2.8 Macro 1:1 ( http://www.tamron.com/en/photolens/di_macro/272e.html )

I would buy all three lenses used to save some money.

I thought about getting a cheaper lens to really find out what I want, but reject the idea of buying a "OK-lens" to replace it after a short time. I would like to buy something that is good enough to be used for quite some time.

I hope you can help me with my request.

If I expressed myself wrongly or unintelligibly please excuse me, English is not my native language.

Thanks in advance for your help

Gregor
