fz150 - how would you have taken this shot?

Thanks everyone for the advice - though I might not go with the suggestion of using a rifle...!

Using the car roof for stability did not occur to me - seems really obvious now (like all good ideas).

I was happy with the silhouette - there was really not enough light to try and capture any detail on the deer. I guess what I wanted was a little faster shutter speed to get a crisper outline, especially on the antlers, and ideally the colour in the sky.

Thanks for the comments on how the auto mode may have generated a more blue sky, that is useful to know. I rarely use anything other than standard picture modes, so there's a lesson for me.

Interestingly, there are two other recent forum threads that are relevant - use of Handheld night mode, and the use of stacking images. I've just acquired PSE11, so I'll have to practice that technique.
