Why is NEX-6 not sold with the old 18-55 mm kit lens?

Is the new 16-50mm really better or at least equal the old kit lens

If so would the old 18-55 mm disappear?

just wonder what will happen to NEX kit lens in the future

Will these 2 kit lens co-exist or will the old 18-55mm disappear

I don't want the old 18-55mm disappear as I think it is a decent zoom lens.  Still not sure about the real IQ of 16-50mm
