there's only one 100-400L and it has IS. you can use a 1.4 teleconverter if you have a 1 series body but AF will be slow and IQ will be suckish. you may get some other workaround to work with other bodies but again IQ will be suckish unless you have a very high tolerance for pain :-).
The 100-400L and 1.4x TC combination should also work with the 5D3 when Canon releases the new firmware in April allowing AF aft f/8. I'm looking forward to it.
