According to Roger Cicala at Lensrentals the Zeiss ZF.2 25mm f/2.0 (1216 / 1017 @ f/4) seems to be the lens that hold highest resolution. But there is so little information about that particular lens. Could only fund a sloppy review by kenrockwell [2]. Anyone made any comparison between this and Nikkors 14-24 2.8 ? Or sharpness comparison to Zeiss ZF.2 21mm?

And is there any other lens that performs better??

Best regards

Where does Roger Cicala say the 25mm holds the highest resolution? He does say that it is a little weak at infinity and therefore not great for landscape work.

My impression is that he thinks the 21mm is sharper, especially wide open. Its problem is mustache distortion which is problematic for architecture, but OK for landscape.

Well he lists the lenses with resolution data in the link (http://www.lensrentals.com/blog/2012/03/d800-lens-selection), and that lists that the particular lens has Zeiss ZF.2 25mm f/2.0 (1216 / 1017 @ f/4) highest resolution compared to others in the list. If that value is compared to resolution, "maximum center / average resolution".

Please enlighten me if I'm wrong.

Best regards
