activate rec in live view with canon 5d mark ii

Menu CF.IV OPERATIONS/OTHERS,  goto 3 Assign Set Button, then select 6:Record movie(Liveview)

Liveview & recording will then be started with a single tap of the set button.

Not exactly what you asked for, however a single button solution.
