To Shield3: Instead of linking to other peoples' videos from the A99 and complaining about them, link your own videos displaying the problem, and maybe I'll believe you and your "Snarry Hatch" clone. Again, not saying the "problem" doesn't exist, simply saying that you haven't provided a single shred of YOUR OWN PROOF that it does.

I posted multiple videos that I shot with my a99. Pay attention.

All I've seen links to in your posts are the video commercials and other videos shot by others.

Any softness I see in any of the videos that have been posted appears to be due to further compression due to the limitations of streaming video on the internet, that and focus seeking due to movement in some of the "amateur" videos.

Even the "sharp" time-lapse portions of the videos show internet streaming compression artifacts.

About 20 minutes before you posted this, he provided his own comparison video and then followed up with screen shots. Just FYI in case you didn't read ahead.

And in other threads, as mentioned by other members here, I posted some of my own footage.

Sean, what do you think of the latest thing I posted? I could have sharpened the 5D III footage but thought I'd show it as it was.

I'm going to go shoot. Be back very late tonight. Got to try to figure out this Canon.

Watched the tree one that was mentioned here.  The lighting between the two sections of video is uneven, along with some differing settings.

The A99 part does look a bit soft, though not OOF soft, but it also appears to be under the effects of some very heavy compression.  The 5DIII part isn't a lot sharper, but the brighter lighting does lend to a "sharper" appearance, this part also appears to be effected by a heavy form of video compression as well.

I mention the compression as the entire video is plagued with severe compression artifacts, which impede full observation.
