18-55 OIS Lens Problem

My zoom lens is making a terrible whistling sound most times when I press the shutter. I have been able to isolate the problem to the OIS mode 2. I tried a different body and had the same problem.

For those of you with the X-E1 kit, could you please help me by testing yours? I would like to know if this problem affects all the zoom lenses or if mine is bad.

In the shooting menu, set the IS Mode to "(2) Shooting Only". Ensure the OIS switch on the lens is set to "On". Try to focus on several different objects. Does yours make a whistling sound?
