your keeper rate?

Sorry if you mentioned it above but by the end of the third paragraph I got so bored I couldn't read any more.

I have a weak attention span.

Oh Tedolph, I thought you would be riveted by my prose

To make a long story longer, my keeper rate varies by subject and isn't even measurable since I delete the bad stuff immediately after importing a batch of photos into Lightroom. With the kids (who are not the most cooperative subjects), if I had to guess I'd say I keep 2 out of 3 photos. With most static subjects, I probably keep 8 out of 10 photos. If I'm experimenting or learning, I might only keep 10%.

Arrrrrgh!

I can't take it anymore!

The bottom line is that I don't really care. I'm not keeping score. The more I delete after import, the better I feel When I get one really excellent shot that I'm proud of, I don't care how many takes I had to throw out to get there. Sometimes I nail it on the first take, and other times on the 10th or 20th. As long as I'm enjoying the process, I don't care. If I was doing it for a living, I would be more concerned about how much time I spend taking photos I throw away (unless their just burst mode shots).

Just give me a number, Man!

ONE sentance....

ONE.

Well, while you are waiting, I will say in one sentence that my keeper rate all depends on the subject, purpose of the photo session, and how I feel on any particular day, but really, I don't care either if you know what I mean; notwithstanding all the above, I would say my keeper rate for "proud to display" photos is less than 1%, while the rate for family documentation is about 30% unless I am having a particularly bad day, then it is more like 10%, but, you know, this is just a really wild guess anyway, but I am glad that you are interested in seeing a concrete number.
