I do not know where you are; however, cable is up to 40mbs here compared to 2-4mbs for satellite or DSL [pushing satillite numbers for what i was offered].

40mbs was $10 less then DSL and satellite was double cable.

You can shut down cable if you are worried about hackers [a better idea with any sustem is to shut down your system when not in use for extended periods]. I was hit several times on DSL and now use a double anti-virus/malware system that has worked so far.

Many updated cable systems have protected systems that will not allow you to receive less than what you have been paying for [mine has not dropped].

So you know I am one who hates cable TV so much I use DISH Satellite TV for that. However, satellite is not in the same range of either quality, speed, or price yet at least where I live.

PS by using DISH for TV, and cable for the internet and phone [Voip] I am saving about $100 per month. In my area Each is excellent in 1 area and none in more than that.

If you need a mobile system simply eliminate my comments as Cable can not do that.
