The question was in the title line: " Does IS help with slow moving subjects? "

Take 30 seconds and read the actual POST - not just the title. Would a stabilized lens help in the situation described in the post? It absolutely can in some cases. Not because it stops the motion blur but because it stops the camera shake that can occur at shutter speeds fast enough to stop the slow motion but still too slow to prevent camera shake. A stabilized lens can absolutely help the photographer.

Oh great! Now it seems we are in dispute about what question the OP is actually asking.

Personally, I think you are making an extremely odd reading of his text, given the context of his already knowing the effect of anti-shake on stationary subjects, and then specifically mentioning the speed of movement in subjects he was enquiring about.

Taken both together, it is perverse to suggest he was enquiring about "image improvement" in some airy-fairy generalist way. On the contrary, he was being very specific about which improvement he was looking for, went so far as to reinforce the point in his title as well.

Now, if he meant some other question to be asked it would be extraordinary, but not impossible.

Perhaps he would be good enough to come back in here and help us out...[???]
