Tamron 10-24 Infinity Focus

Hello.  I have the Tamron 10-24.  The focus ring is quite a short 'throw' from closest focus to infinity.  In fact the last footage mark on it is 10 ft and the next is infinity.

I just noticed when focusing on a far away object or scene, the focus ring on the lens is NOT on infinity. Its closer to the 10ft mark.   The image is sharp but the focus ring does not show the true distance.  I wonder if this an issue.  Has anyone noticed this?
