All this reminds me of how *PHOTOGRAPHERS* enjoy shallow depth-of-field and good bokeh and framing the whole head in the shot etc, while the general public could give a $*(# less and if given the choice would rather have a scene close enough to the person that if the head is chopped off a bit so what and the background is sharp, not blurry and smooth. Wait, I just described half the billboards in the world! The point is that the non-photographer doesn't care about all the things you care about.

All I can say is, I'm glad I am not in that field!!! You got this stuff right here from one guy, and the other guy is wiping something like spit on his lens and shooting through venetian blinds while his peers call him a genius. If I showed that to a client of mine, I'd be fired for purposeful incompetence. Why buy a Medium Format camera and then do everything you can to introduce giant effects that reduce the quality of the image? And why make strange poses that people don't do in real life, these ideas are akin to throwing darts blind-folded hoping for someone to like the artsyness of it all? What's next a picture of someone eating a double-cheeseburger while hanging upside down over a picket fence wearing a sunflower print near a real sunflower??? Maybe I should apply. Sounds easy to make up all this nonsense.
