That depends on the size of your subject and the type of the subject. If it's a portrait, you do not want to get too close or the result might not be flattering to the subject.

With a 45 mm lens on MFT from 2 m your field of view will be approximately 50 cm x 80 cm. If you get closer to 1.5 m, your field of view would be approx. 40 cm x 60 cm. To maintain the same DOF at 1.5 m you would set your aperture to in between f5.6 and f/8.
