You never mentioned how you set the white balance.

However that really doesn't matter that much as your camera should be almost right on using automatic white balance. I would take another poster's suggestion and reset your entire camera to defaults, then take a few shots. You should be using some kind of filter on your lens, just to protect it from getting scratched. Also you don't want to be constantly cleaning fingerprintes from the lens glass. You might want to consider shooting in RAW where you can adjust the white balance in your computer.
