These 2 kit lenses are good. If the site allowed easier photo uploads I could show you. However, the primes and 2.8 and 1.8 (or 1.4) lenses are much better, in fact superb.
My gallery has 70-200 2.8 VR with TC 20 III teleconverter shots of motorcycle at track (FX & DX from same position 100 yards away) and wood duck from 5 yards. These are better than the 70-300 VR but I'm happy with it as well in good light. The 3 whooping cranes were shot with amy 70-300 VR at 200 yards FX and cropped a bunch. The pelicans on the dock with pastel hued houses in background - same lens, also cropped (so could be uploaded) from about 50 yards. All these are JPEG fine. However the pelicans waiting for fishermen to clean fish is with the 28-85mm, also cropped so as to be able to be uploaded here, at 68mm and f5.6 in fading light.
