I too just jumped on the X100 train and am so glad I did. My wife and I travel quite often, sometimes with just a travel pack and the compact rugged build of the X100 is so very nice. The picture quality is just stunning, can't wait to unleash it on beautiful Italy this spring.

In the last year I have gone from a full-blown Nikon DSLR setup to a Sony NEX-7, and now to the X100. The Nikon is awesome, and awesomely heavy. The NEX is tiny but I have issues with the image quality and I never really clicked with that camera anyway. In both cases I usually kept a fast prime on the body to keep travel weight down which sort of defeats the purpose of an ILC. Plus with these systems you're always tempted to pack just one more lens, and suddenly your bag is quite heavy.

The X100 is the camera I have wanted for many years, quirks and all. I actually find the camera quite intuitive and easy to use, especially with the latest firmware. The image quality is stunning.

I purchased it from Amazon last month and the serial number was a 22xxxx number, which is supposedly unaffected by previous manufacturing issues.
