Hi Patrick,

The inventory slot numbers are so to say internal product numbers, they usually do not show the model name/number of the camera itself till it is officially announced by Nikon. So there is no news yet about new DSLR models, nothing is added yet, only several models are out for some time already. The D700 of course and the D300S. This is only from one large wholesale group and retailer in Japan, might still be that these camera's are for sale at other places.
My colleague says however to expect 1 Nikon DSLR model available for media review purposes in December, so probable will be launched in February or March. Also one of Canon by the way. We both think it will be the follow up for the D300S.

Hi Michel,

I would guess the Nikon model is the D7000/D300S successor, and the canon model is the 7D2. The timing does make sense. NR did suggest a few days ago the fusion of D7000 and D300S into one camera, I am guessing it would be called D400 or D8000.

He heard an interesting story that Nikon will bring out their first DSLR camera with an EVF in 2013. If it will be the follow up of the D300S, don't know.

Michel

Either that, or a FF model that's much more video focused than either of D800 or D600. After all the Sony A99 uses the same sensor as the D600 and does have a EVF. That might be a good way to slot in a high speed FF camera without damaging D4 sales - folks who buy the D4 would more than likely want a OVF.
