I agree with your finding and see only a marginal improvement over the D700 with the latest generation of DSLRs...Video is the obvious lacking..but for still I still think the D700 is very good...but at the moment Im seriously thinking of dropping the DSLR in favour of a OMD EM5...but that's another story
