Unless you forgot to take off the blue dotted line from your new lens I would assume it is a manufacturing fault and return it. In the UK a new item would go back to the retailer for replacement rather than the manufacturer for a fix. The nice thing about Amazon (again, in the UK) is that they don't wait to receive back the unit before sending you the new one, so if they are in stock you should be all set again in a day or two.
