Here is my 2 cents

I have absolutely zero scientific evidence to back up this statement and I have done no testing in the laboratory, a shop or anywhere else for that matter. But I can tell you that in my hands and in my experience the D4 not only focuses faster, it stays locked on better on moving subjects. I personally own both cameras.

I feel that unfortunately this forum is rapidly heading to a gearhead, pixel counting forum that demands hard, scientific evidence in order to make a statement. Photography, while based on hard numbers from an exposure standpoint, is still about feel and touch. I don't know exactly how much a pinch or a dash is, but I do know if I like the way something tastes.

My personal evidence is based on the numbers of keepers that I have and how it all feels when I am shooting. We all know the moment we get the exact shot we want, even in a large sequence of shots. That isn't science, it is feel. I have plenty of shots I am proud of with both the D800 and D4, but personally when I am shooting sports, planes or birds, I may or may not bring my D800 or D600 for that matter, but I will ALWAYS bring my D4.

Just my 2 cents. Here is a link to some of my recent shots. All the exif data is on all my shots.
