The Guardian's My Best Shot series has jumped the shark

Well, few interesting things happen when people follow "rules", when it comes to art, photography, literature etc. Which is not the same as to say you shouldn't know the rules or the technique. The discussion in this thread, for instance, was interesting in a way.
