The Guardian's My Best Shot series has jumped the shark

"Is there anyone here who can actually appreciate the red bed photo?"

I can – and some others too, apparently. That “actually” indicates a somewhat narrow-minded attitude in my opinion. This photo makes you think about meaning and content, and the “awkward cropping”, as someone referred to, makes it less self-evident. What’s outside the frame? Who was there? It obviously also made you react – positively or negatively.
