V1 + SB-N5 behavior under auto ISO 100.3200...?

Recently did some few tryouts with the V1 + SB-N5 on a party and wondered that the cam when used in auto ISO mode 100-3200 with fill-in flash, even then defaults to ISO 3200. Thought it would recognize the flash here and set down ISO accordingly, but it seems not to do this when in fill-in flash mode?

Do you always have to explicatively set the ISO down even when using auto ISO modes and flash?
