Vintage Canon Movie Lens Repair Question

Hi there, not sure if this a decent place to post this (first post to this forum), but thought i'd give it a shot. I recently came across a Canon TV Zoom lens v6x17 17-102mm f/2 c mount. I bought an adaptor for my t3i, everything fits perfectly, but i'm unable to focus the lens. if i zoom in all the way to 102 and physically bring the camera within 2 feet of the subject, i'm able to get interesting macro shots, but thats the extent of the usablility at this point. The focus looks to be functioning correctly but i'm not certain. It's also possible that the lens is too far (or close?) to the sensor. I've seen a couple videos showcasing the lens on a panasonic gh2 (heres a sample:http://vimeo.com/28106895) and everything looks to work just fine. I can't imagine the sensor distance to be much different than my camera. If anyone has any input on this situation, it'd be greatly appreciated. It's an interesting lens and i'd love to have some fun with it.
