It does have a fan, so it keeps pretty cool, but you need to make sure that everything works as it's supposed to right out of the box.  i have 2 of these cases, and on 1 of them only the USB connection work, the eSATA port did not - I did not use the eSATA port at the beginning and did not realize that it didn't work.
