Lightroom catalogues, blood pressure, KISS principle...

Hello there, new Lightroom user here...

So, I have been using Lightroom for a week or so now and have just realized that the catalogue system drives me crazy. You see, I come from years of extensive Bridge use and the catalogue system just seems counterintuitive.

So, I plan to always remove my edited files from LR and simply save the edits in XMP sidecar files. I know I will not benefit from the database features but I just want to use LR as a raw converter. I bought it to get the new RAW engine without having to upgrage from PS CS5 to CS6 yet.

Anyone else doing this?

Ps. The new RAW engine is great. It handles my 1Ds MkIII files so beautifully that it beggars belief.

Pps. I am not saying that LR catalogue system is inherently bad. Some people undoubtedly need it and put it to good use. I just have my own system already. Just want to hear from people about using LR just as a converter. Peace.
