Best Canon DSLR starter for teenager

In theory film for the old folks but if my grandchildren wanted their 1st music player I would not have them start with a 45 turntable, 8 track etc. They would jump right into CD's, ipods, etc. It is fun for me to talk to my children and grandchildren about film showing them my medium formats, 35 mm stuff but they are as bored as me telling them I walked 1 mile in to snow to school! As mentioned look for a good starter kit in the price you want to pay and go on from there.
