Page 264 part of Functions and Menu Tables shows compression, superfine as - (not available) for sports mode as well as other modes. Seems to follow same pattern with useful functions that in most cases are PASM only.

Functions and Menu Tables was probably a lot more readable when manual was paper. In Canon's conversion to PDF it would have probably been more readable to have whole table as one page. Printing out that way will make a great guide.
