No I don't confuse product with model. That is why I said "albeit not the whole camera". It is not an entirely new product, but there is still plenty of work to do, and that was my point. You would cannibalise sales in the sense that rather than one D800 selling 1 million units, you would have a D800 selling 500,000 units, and a D800+ selling 500,000 units. So you get the same sales, but less profits due to a) extra development costs b) extra marketing and distribution costs.

What exactly is your reasoning for selling the same while appeal to more customers at the same time?

At the end of the day any reasoning I give is no more than MY OPINION just as you have expressed your opinion. We disagree, so leave it at that instead of trying to bully me in your emotional way. Oh and don't send me a stream of private messages, I didn't read the last lot.

Have you encountered for D600, D800E sales rise if "internal competition" vanishes? ...which "extra development costs"? ...there aren't any (worth to consider)... nor any serious "distribution costs exist... just "add existing customers" that are now "homeless"... that's the proposition, yet no losses from the existing customers either!

Personally I don't agree but neither of us can prove our arguments. But that won't stop you posting more threads about your own personal wants, needs, desires, whatever.

Yet, you only don't provide a backing of your argument... My argument is that there is a lot of market that is homeless (D700 owners/fans) and Nikon losses the sales trying to explain internal competition with discounts... Do you deny that they have nothing to offer for this market? ...Talk sense man, will you?

You are doing no more than repeating your assertions as if they are truth but in a very pushy emotional way. Clam down.
