NEX 6 + Sony E 50mm F1.8 - First Shot

Hi Peter,

Yes, this was wide open. I would usually stop down just a little on a f1.8 lens (say f2.0 or f2.2) to to sharpen things up whilst maintaining a nice, shallow depth of field. That said, this lens seems to be very sharp wide open so no really need to stop down.

I have a canon 85mm f1.8 for my 5D & the Sony seems much sharper wide open.
