Where to start? Body? Glass? Both?

Thanks Richard! Do you recommend the canon 50mm f1.4 then or shoud i consider the sigma?

I've seen people have amazing results with a 50mm but but being 17 and living in a pretty rural area of the UK means that I haven't had a chance to try it out for myself!

And yes the surf photos were shot with my 70-300mm, I had to get in the water to get close enough and even then I had to crop. The lens correction tool in lightroom really helps with that lens because you get a fair bit of colour fringing!
