My 20/1.7 lens does hunt in low light and this is one aspect which draws me to the new 17mm. I can't see it being a huge amount better optically but I do think the AF will be better. However, I'll wait to see how it is judged in the field after release and enjoy my Panny for the time being.

indeed, although the lens is excellent, it's a bit dated by now. The 12mm f2.0 is a really excellent en very sharp lens. I used my 20mm 1.7 as primary lens for a very long time, but the lack of video capabilities was a huge disadvantage. But I like the focal length very much.
