This photo was taken on a 2011 trip to Nova Scotia. Unfortunately it was very overcast (obviously) but there wasn't a "breath of wind". It was taken with a Nikon D700 and a Sigma 24-70/2.8 lens, which has now been replaced with a Nikon 24-70/2.8 lens.

Remember, it's not the CPU that's in your camera that makes great images, it's the one located about 4" behind the viewfinder that does.

Good shot.

However, I find the half island on the left side of the picture a bit disturbing. You should have included the whole island or if this was not possible, crop it out. You could also photoshop the water over the island if you want to retain the horizontal format of the picture.

Nice shot!

Another idea to deal with the island on the left might be to crop to maybe a 1:2 aspect ratio.  It would cut out some of the gray sky and emphasize the left-to-right lines created by the far shoreline, the island on the left, and the island that the building sits on.  Here's a quick crop from Lightroom (I didn't add borders back in or make other adjustments).  Hope you don't mind the different interpretation ...

Original cropped at 1:2; no other adjustments.
