RX-100 can the shutter speed be increased with a firmware update?

What do you shoot that you need faster than 1/2000th for ??

I'm a sports photographer for a living and darn if there has been anything I've covered in the 9 years I've been doing this that needed over 1/2000th to capture.

Usually about 1/500th is plenty, though sometimes 1/1000th or faster is nice for really peak stuff like a volleyball spike etc.

1/2000th should certainly suffice though  What exactly are you shooting that needs faster than 1/2000th and more so, even if the RX100 did go to say, 1/4000th, or even 1/8000th for sake of argument, given its a point and shoot with no VF, poor focus tracking, and a 100mm equiv max reach, I still can't see it being a very useful action camera
