RX1 or RX100 Backpacking the World.

It is your money and of course you can do anything you like but if you think for a moment that the RX1 will have a dramatic improve of your photography compared to the rx100 you are making a big mistake but of course, we all like expensive gadgets.

So my answer is simple. If you can take only one camera, and you want to come home with a veriety of beautiful souvenirs of your round the world trip, the RX100 being more flexible and more versatile, would be a much better choice. The difference in the price, will pay for the flight tickets and for a second RX100 in case that one gets stolen.
