as you call us also like fast decent zooms. We also like bigger cameras. That patent might sort out the focus on m4/3 period. But not the small crappy size.

The preconceived idea that an m43 camera HAS to be small is just about that - a preconceived idea. The GH3 being a good example, as you point it out.

Though some girlie boy mFT folk claim the GH3 is huge , it remains pretty svelte compared to  the best FT body the E-5. Especially ,with regard to weight. And though a larger body suits me I much prefer the GH3 dimensions and layout to those of the E-M5 . For a very large part of the mFT user group, size and weight are the most important characteristics .

GH3

550 g   133 x 93 x 82 mm

E-5

892g   143 x 117 x 75 mm

I hope for you guys with the excellent SHG and even HG lenses they come up with a fully functioning option. Though frankly the demand for these lenses by current mFT users would I feel be miniscule. Personally,I have never seen the sense in mounting huge heavy lenses { in proportion to the sensor size} on mFT bodies. Like a lot of folk I had a wee tinker mounting FF lenses on the various adapters. Before quickly coming to the conclusion that if I was going to carry my 70-200vr2 on an adapter I might as well carry the D800 and get better results from it.

I am not giving up on the hopes of seeing something really modular someday, the HLD-6 grip with its two modules being a step in the right direction.

Something more elaborate ending up in a decent form factor would be an interesting thing to try.

Automatic translations from Japanese being what they are - I am intrigued by the "Actuator" part. No Olympus digital lenses need an actuator.

If this is what I think it is - this adapter would actually have some sort of optical elements which would be the ones doing the actual focusing ?

If yes, this comes very close to my dream of yore (pre- micro four thirds) about a system which would do some sort of "slow" ballpark prefocusing on the lens itself, then a fast focusing at the sensor level, like some old Contax cameras did (although their focusing by moving the film plane was anything but fast, then again the mass to move was totally different).
