The thing that Neil does very well is hold up a mirror to all of the pompous, self-admiring pseudo-experts who frequent the gear forums at DPReview. As a whole, these forums are chock full of worthless, pointless, badly conceived snapshots, usually with too little DOF, which offer nothing artistically and only serve to add to the background noise of the internet, which swallows up the real content. Never is this so true than with wedding toggers.

Neil knowingly posts up a sub-par snap with a fanfare worthy of a masterpiece and it highlights a failing all too common amongst all too many on here; an attempt to cover up a lack of talent with expensive gear and big talk.

The truth hurts and to be shown the truth so effectively and in jest hurts all the more. The people who hurt the most are the ones who respond the most vehemently. It is clear who they are.

Masquerading as a wedding DJ who runs around allegedly outsnapping the official event photographer is a solid gold ruse to get people's backs up around here. It's the perfect vehicle to lampoon the so called professionals and force them to reflect upon their own misplaced sense of superiority and endless self congratulation. I applaud him.

The selection of shots provided by Neil is far too well chosen to be accidental. Each one highlights some aspect of hack photography and Neil obviously knows enough about what he is doing to be able to shoot or select and process these purely for the entertainment value that they can offer on here. I suspect that Neil is actually a jolly decent photographer, and I also value his contributions to this forum; witty and well targeted. I know that writing this won't do anything to lessen his impact as those who complain the most bitterly will never be able to read all the way to the end of this lengthy post.

Well, he's certainly a lot more subtle than you are.

Listen up everybody! You're all rubbish!
