There's no other way than blocking the visible RC control flash with some home-made filter or flash head cover that only allows IR through. Better is to use the FL-LM2 for RC control as it's lighter to carry if shooting hand held and the flash head is smaller and easier to cover.
The fact is that the final RC flash pulse to trigger the final exposure flash naturally has to happen within the actual exposure time.
Otherwise to eliminate RC control flash contribution you need to investigate true radio flash slave solutions, but then you have only auto or manual and no TTL.
Large apertures, close distance and higher ISO settings all go to make the RC problem worse.
