New D300 sensor - will it be better than the original?

I just had my 4 year old D300 sensor replaced after I scrathed it while attempting to wet-clean it for the first time. I hope to pick up the camera tomorrow after some excellent service by Nikon in Cape Town - I submitted it for repair on Friday, they had to get the replacement part from Johannesburg over the weekend and let me know today (Monday) that the job is done and I can collect the camera tomorrow . The cost? , but I knew that.

My question is: does anybody know whether the new, replacement sensor would be identical to the original part (from 4 years ago), or can I expect some improvements?
